UPDATE 07-01-09
: .
Here is a
long overdue update about the SpdKilz TT Z06. It has been
over a year since I have updated the site and I apologize for that.
The Z06 has been in storage for the past year, and will remain in
storage for most likely two more years (sad, I know). I am
back out in California working on obtaining my JD at Pepperdine Law.
Going to law school coupled with planning a wedding (became engaged
recently) leaves me very little time to update the site so again I
am sorry for the lack of updates. I will start to add more ZR1
and Z06 videos regularly this summer and next year, though there
will be no "original" SpdKilz productions for some time.
As a quick update with the car from summer 2008: I installed a
manual boost gauge and upped the boost to a little bit over six PSI.
Before, the wastegates had springs in them and the boost would top
out at a bit less than 4.5 PSI. When you figure that on 4 PSI
I increased my RWHP by over 100 (and the increase was on a mustang
dyno) I figure that at 6 PSI I was running a bit over
600rwhp
last summer (you could feel the difference, that's for sure).
Also, I was running no mufflers last summer which helped free up a
bit of horsepower. Sadly I was never able to go to the track
with the new power, but seeing as I trapped 133 before, I hope I
would trap around 136-7. As soon as law school is over and I
get a job, I will immediately begin saving to build up the engine.
My goal is 750-800 reliable RWHP. That will be a walk in the
park for the GT35R's! So please, stay tuned!
. : The
Quick Story Behind The Build : .
Over a year ago I came into contact with a small shop in Palatine, IL
called CM Racing. We had a few discussions about possible plans
for the Z06. When all was said and done, we agreed on a one of a
kind front mount turbo system with twin FMIC's behind the Z06 grills
(the first in existence I believe). The goal was to not only
have a fully functional TT setup, but to have one that would be
ascetically pleasing and turn heads. I believe we have succeeded
in this mission.
I realize that I somewhat went out of order with the decision to go TT.
I am yet to build up my rear end, transmission, and motor.
However, to be perfectly honest this was an offer I could not pass up.
CM Racing wanted to get some publicity and essentially did the kit for
cost (cheaper than a current APS kit without install price).
Thus, for this year I will be running only .3 bar (about 4.5 psi) on a
stock bottom end. This should easily put me at upper 500, low
600's for rear wheel horsepower.
As with all custom kits, there are many issues that need to be
addressed before and after everything is "done." As of now
(8-17-2007) I am still fixing up a few minor issues, and one major
issue which is the clutch.
I was
able to finally get the SpdKilz Z06 back on the road last week.
I went to Sound Performance to get it a very conservative dynotune.
Through the essentially stock, modified TI exhaust, on a lower reading
mustang dyno, at 4.5psi I put down
548rwhp,
511rwtq.
Once I put cutouts in I should get a 20-30rwhp bump up.
I will be
updating this as time goes on, and in the following week or two I will
get a complete list of parts/components I used. For now, here is
a quick list:

Quick Part List : .

Headers, Downpipe, Intake Tube, and Exhaust by CM Racing
